Extracts from Rockwell’s report of 14 July 1944 describe the LCT group carrying Sherman DD tanks towards the American landing sectors at Omaha Beach. The report follows departure from Portland, arrival offshore and division into columns serving the 741st and 743rd Tank Battalions.
