To the south of Vierville, Bataillons I/115 and II/115 were to be largely bypassed by Vierville by the South and to Longueville. Their progress has been very slow. The connections worked very badly and the battalions were out of touch with each other almost all day.

The 2nd Battalion made movement across fields on a wide front, hoping that this would allow to sweep a light opposition. In Vacqueville, a small enemy force used stone farms as defences and held the battalion with small arms fire until late in the afternoon.

The battery C of the 110°Bataillon d'Artillerie de Campagne, available in support, fired two flights without being spotted from positions near St-Laurent, thus helping the 2°Bataillon to clean the hamlet.

At 7.30 p.m., Battalion II/115 was able to resume its advance, which continued throughout the night and reached Montigny at 3 a.m. on 8 June. It was a defensive area with trenches and barbed wire, but empty of enemies.
(the artillery battery of the 352nd Division that was there on June 6 had had to retreat the previous night)

For their part, Battalions I/115 and III/115 (this one after cleaning the village of St-Laurent) were stopped east of Louvières by a small enemy opposition and were out of contact with Battalion II/115 until the morning of 8 June.

Still without car transport and carrying his ammunition and heavy weapons, the 115th Regiment had been mainly handicapped by difficulties in transport and transmission.
